Well, I appreciate your updates, I cannot wait to come back. I messed up my bookmarks and couldn't wait to find it again. Had trouble finding it...forever'ish. I am so happy I had to tell someone.

I am so happy I wasn't the only sista to be transformed by Kemet's greatness. I set foot on the Mother Land on 6/12/2010 and am already planning my return visit. I was the only African American in my group but I felt truly special when my Egyptian counterparts called me "Cousin" and were in awe of me. I smiled wide an spoke to everyone. My group members were amazed by the peoples reaction to me. I felt at home, in a place I had never been. hanks you for making me remember that joyous time in my life and I am oping for a repeat performance in 2012. I am looking forward to you writing more books, characters and images your mind will create. Hold tight to your African experience....there is nothing like it!
Love and Light!

Wow! I always tell people I've travelled the world via PBS but your blog has allowed me to visit Egypt through African-American eyes. :-) I have just one request when you visit Egypt in your next book, could you include a map for those of us who have yet to make the journey. :-)Thanks once again!

What a wonderful blog. I too have always wanted to go to Egypt. As a woman, your experiences scared me but at the same time strenghtened my determination to go. Just have to make sure there are males in my travel group. (Don't think husband would be capable of making this trip) I see I have to make sure I'm physically prepared for that trip too. So I'd better start losing weight and exercising so I can make it up those stairs of the pyramids and fit through those small spaces designed for little priest with little feet... lol

Wow Leslie! You may not post in a while but when you do...it's awesome and enlightening. I've always wanted to go to Egypt. Thank you so much for letting me see it through your eyes. I may never get to go but, I'm glad you and your friend did. I've read your whole VHL series and I can't imagine how it felt to acutually walk down the same streets in Egypt that you wrote about and your character Damali did. Or how it felt to experience the motherland first hand. I'm sure you were inspired as a writer and it had to be life changing as a person. Wow! I look forward to reading more from one of my fav authors.
