I’ll be on HBO

By Leslie

Hey, folks, I hope this last holiday weekend of the summer season is treating everyone well. Me, hey, I cannot believe the summer is almost over so soon (weeping) — seems like yesterday I was out BBQing for Memorial Day and now they are talking about Labor Day? Sheesh! Is that a sign of old age, or a sign that too much is happening too fast in our society to keep up? I think I’ll blame it on society and not claim the getting old part, LOL… but I digress :) …(which is a sign of the wrinkling part, oh well.)

Anywho…I just got word that I made the interviews and didn’t hit the cutting room floor for the vampire lit documentary that is coming out on HBO just prior to the new TV series (that I cannot WAIT to see), True Blood, based on Charlain Harris’ series. The trailers look hot-to-death, and I’ll be propped up in front of the TV on premier night–you can count on it!

But apparently they interviewed a bunch of us who write in the genre… and see this excerpt below from an email that I just got from the HBO people:

TRUE BLOODLINES: VAMPIRE LEGENDS

And

TRUE BLOODLINES: A NEW TYPE

Both shows will premiere on HBO main channel on Saturday night, September 6th at 7pm and 7:30pm respectively.

Then again on Sunday the 7th, at 8pm and 8:30pm, which then leads up to the premiere of TRUE BLOOD at 9pm.

If you want to see it before then, both shows will begin on HBO ON DEMAND on September 1st and run through the end of the year.

Of the two shows, Vampire Legends is more historical in scope (Vlad, Bram Stoker, ‘31 Dracula, etc), whereas A New Type picks up where the show left off, and deals mostly with certain Vampire movies, Vamp lifestyle and Vamp myths. [You are featured significantly in both shows.]

Folks, I’m not gonna lie… it was that last line in the paragraph that made me jump up and down like a lunatic and scream, LOL. How cool is that?

So as we enter the fall and the new season, check out vamps on HBO and yours truly… and then say a little prayer (BIG GRIN) that one day the TV and movie faeries might sprinkle a little good luck dust on The Vampire Huntress Legends series!

BIG HUG and happy rest of the summer –Leslie!
This Labor Day, be safe, have fun, and Stay in the Light

I already have my Tivo set for all three shows on Saturday. What a treat this will be. I read Sookie Stackhouse as religiously as I read VHL. Now if we can only get Shotime to do VHL a sister can really blowup her Tivo box.

I cannot wait to see that!! :-) Cool. I have to get HBO—-quickly! I had Showtime because of the Masters of Horror Show. Bleh. Cannot wait to see you on there!

I was jumping up and down when I saw that you were being featured.
    I’m so happy for you!!
I haven’t been online much lately, and just I caught the notice on Friday the 5th. Since I didn’t have HBO, I immediately called and ordered it (JUST FOR YOU!:-).. It was wayyyy cool seeing and hearing your commentary.
Finally, we are seeing you get the recognition you deserve (not that you weren’t being recognized, it’s just awesome to see you on TV).
It’s only a matter of time now; looking forward to your BIG BLOW UP on the cable networks (or the silver screen)!!!

Congratulations, it is so well deserved!!

Oh I can’t wait for the day when I can watch your series on TV. I was getting my eyebrows done the other day and the young Indian girl there was reading your book. We both cofessed to being addicts. Your books reach so many different types of people. The entertainment world would be silly not to jump on the VHL band wagon. :-)

Congrats on your success. Your TV days will come soon!!!!
